Introduction to Java
Interested in learning the fundamentals of one of computer science's most popular coding languages, and in learning conceptual programming ideas that you can apply to any language? Then look no further, and sign up to take CS Unite's "Introduction to Java" Course, taught by experienced CS students from the Bergen County Academies, Brooke Kim Foley )(CS Unite's Founder!) & William Kim! Throughout this course, students will not only learn the foundations of using Java, but will learn how to create projects, pursue their own interests in computer science, and learn the basics behind coding as a whole.​

-- This class is heavily recommended for students from grades 3+ (8 years and up!) --
Class Content Includes:
- A 1-hour lecture per week over Zoom for a planned 7 weeks
- QNA Sessions after Each Lesson; Students will be encouraged here to ask anything, including questions regarding the recent coursework, past homework, and can ask for live reviews of their code from the instructors.
- Students will be instructed per code demonstrations and will be encouraged to try out optional homework assignments and projects to test their knowledge

- Java Basic Syntax (Print Statements, If Statements, Loops, Etc.)
- Fundamental Coding Concepts (Variables, Data Types, Input/Output)
- Functions/Methods
- Lists & Dictionaries
- Data Structures (Arrays, Linked Lists, etc.)
- Error Handling
- + How to utilize Java to make personal projects
